Voting is a simple way for community members to express their opinion on something.

Many community software platforms have a feature which lets you "vote up" or "vote down" an item that is posted to the community. This is often indicated by thumbs up/thumbs down icons, or by arrows. Voting increments (or decrements) a counter which can be used to display how well-liked an item is.
